Summary The CNC Operator operates computer numerical control machines to fabricate hubs or clean up wheels and tires.
The CNC operator loads parts in the machine, cycles machine and detects malfunctions in machine operations, such as worn or damaged cutting tools.
The position runs production lots, communicates with co-workers regarding productions runs, and maintains a safe, organized and clean work environment.
The 2nd shift position hours are 2:
30pm - 11:
00pm M-F with some require OT during the week or on Saturdays.
The 3rd shift position hours are 10:
30pm - 7:
00am starting Sunday night through Friday morning.
Occasional Friday night OT required.
Essential Functions Regularly perform all assigned machining operations.
Read blueprints.
Set Jaws to correct diameter.
Change inserts and make offsets to adjust to specs.
Change tools and be able to set tools.
Perform own inspections using all of the following gauges proficiently, caliper, micrometer, height stand, digital bore gauge, id tooling, boring bars and bore gages.
Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to management or designee.
Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows prescribed safety procedures.
Read, understand and follow written work instructions.
Fill out daily production and related paperwork.
Programing CNC machines is NOT a requirement.

1 to 2 years of experience is preferred but not required for Level 1 CNC Operator.
To qualify for CNC Operator Level 2 the following are also required:
1.
Use of depth micrometer.
2.
When changing inserts, identify tool wear and when adjustments/changes need to be made.
3.
Prefer 3 to 5 years of experience.
