Our client has an immediate opening for a Senior Network Engineer. The incumbent in the role will perform the following duties:
Design, implement, manage and maintain Cisco network infrastructure
Lead and mentor the network operations team of 5 individuals on advanced technologies including current Citrix pilot and Cisco Nexus infrastructure upgrade
Administer SAN, Replication, Business Continuance, and Wireless solutions for the county including documentation, day to day care, and testing
Responsible for VMWare ESXi 50
virtual server environment
Assist management with budgeting and planning including maintenance costs and capital projects
Maintain network security through proper configuration of switches, firewalls, proxies, and VPN devices
Proactively monitor all aspects of the LAN / WAN on a daily basis, making recommendations to IT Management when necessary
Maintain complete and accurate documentation on the network design, configuration steps, and procedures
Architect comprehensive and cost effective solutions for new IT projects
Maintain the strategies for the backups of all network servers and essential systems. Perform recovery as needed
Manage user accounts on all County servers to ensure that users have access to appropriate and applicable network resources.
Maintain on-call technical support coverage one week, every 7-8 weeks as required.
Required Skills:
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or commensurate experience.
Expert level skills in Cisco networking and infrastructure, with a solid understanding of Nexus and zoning of fabric and fiber switching.
Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor Server/PC engineers, PC techs and help desk personnel.
Proficient in SAN technologies (Tegile) and back-up operations, preferred
Experience with VMWare and managing a virtualized server environment.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
